We are still catching plenty of codling however they are not as reliable as a few weeks ago it could be the smaller tides but more than likely they have started to move away, still we can not complain it has been a bumper year for codling. No doubt there will be a few codling hanging around for a while yet but it really will not be worth fishing for them and we will move on to our summer fishing which if I am honest we have neglected because of the codling.

We made a run offshore to a good skate mark last week but they did not materialize and we only caught two fish for our efforts however I do know that several boats have been offshore and had some good catches. Several thornback skate being caught inshore mixed up with the codling and we had our first bass of the year last week hopefully we will see a lot more of them.
