This
large reservoir is stocked with various coarse fish, including Roach, Perch,
Pike, Rudd and Carp, but is best known for its Bream fishing. You may also
catch the occasional Trout, still left from the days when this reservoir used
to be a Trout fishery. Ardleigh reservoir is owned and maintained by Anglian
Water.
The BT
match on the Wick Lane lake was won by N Woods with 13lbs 10oz. Also on the
Wick Lane lake Steve Carter had a good mixed bag including 30 roach, 3 rudd
and 4 perch. Danny Baker and Clive Baldwin had a few bream each up to 5lbs,
whilst Steve Pearson also had some good-sized bream and a nice 6lb tench.
There have also been quite a few roach caught up the A12 end of the
reservoir, where they often seem to go at this time of year.
There have been some bream caught on the main reservoir by a few carp
anglers but with the weather hopefully warming up , we're sure there will be
some big bags of bream being reported soon.
Bank
and boat fishing are available.
Ardleigh
Reservoir is open daily throughout the year.
